Prompt Care for Eye Emergencies
Unfortunately, eye emergencies can happen at any time. Fortunately, our optometrists have the experience and know-how to treat and manage any number of eye emergencies promptly and effectively. One of the most common eye emergencies we see in our office is that of foreign objects lodged in the eye(s); this can create the potential for serious problems, including physical damage to the eye and even permanent vision loss.
Generally, if you suffer from an eye emergency such as a foreign object stuck in the eye, the best thing to do is to avoid removing the object (this can cause more damage than anything else) and see an optometrist as soon as possible. We're available for emergency care during our regular office hours. We only recommend that you (or someone else) give our office a call while you're on your way here so we can make sure an eye doctor is ready to assist you as soon as you arrive.
If you need help for an eye care emergency outside of our regular office hours, please visit your nearest emergency room or urgent care clinic.
Treatment for Common Eye Conditions
In addition to handling eye emergencies, we also offer treatment for any number of common eye conditions in our office. Red eye and pink eye are both relatively common eye infections that we see and treat with antibiotics in our office. These are both very contagious eye conditions, however, so it's important that you seek treatment as soon as possible when you develop symptoms.
If you suffer from eye allergies, we can also assist you in finding relief. Specifically, our eye care team can perform diagnostics to determine the cause of your allergies; from there, we can recommend a number of treatment options based on your unique needs. Often times, we find that medicated eye drops are the best treatment for many eye allergies, and they can provide nearly instant relief. We can write you a prescription for medicated eye drops in our office that you can fill at your local pharmacy.
